Vanden Plas, ajd da cujem misljenja. Vec su spomenuti u onom topicu "ostali prog bendovi", ali kako taj topic ocito nitko ne sljivi 2% (a vjerojatno sam i ja dijelom zasluzan za to)... Uglavnom, meni su svi albumi odlicni, osim 1. koji je dobar, ali mogao bi biti bolji. Ono sto bih zamjerio bendu jest da ponekad pretjeraju, ili bolje reci nekada ubace neku dionicu na neko mjesto gdje joj nije mjesto (nekada - neku - neko - al sam odredjen ). Recimo stvar I'm in You, savrshen uvod i onda onaj agresivni solo gdje benda sve u 16 mi totalno pokvari dozivljaj, ali srecom vrlo kratko traje taj dio koji me smeta. Ne znam jeste li culi Spirit of Live, jako dobar live, steta sto je samo 1 CD. Eh da... jedan misterij... lyricsi... jednostavno ih nema za skinut, ima od Beyond Daylight i jos par pjesmica sa strane, ali nigdje nisam nasao od svih albuma, stvarno cudno. Stavio sam i poll kako bi bilo zabavnije, pa se zabavljajte . Meni se tesko odluciti za najbolji album, al ajd,The God Thing.

moram priznat da ih se nisam pretjerano naslušao, prvo sam imao Spirits Of Live, sasvim dobar koncertić, Beyond Daylight mi je možda najviše puta prošao kroz player, Farr Of Grace nije loš... neznam

Vokal mi je malo cudan bio na pocetku ali kad se naviknes...

na kraju nisam jedini koji ima samo Spirits of live, al bogme vec dugo ih slušam jednako koliko i sve drugo sta je izdalo i po desetak albuma. jebemu ovu predobru glazbu kad nemaš vremena svu dobro preslušat, iživit se i nikako da dosade, ili bar nakratko stavit to sa strane dok ne poslušaš što drugi bandovi rade. morat cu pocet namjerno gubit cd-ove, da svi ostali dodju na red.

Da, vokal mozda je malo cudan, ali sve u svemu, ovaj bend po meni ima genijalnu produkciju, da ne govorim o tome kakvi su glazbenici. Na njihovim albumima ima toliko preciznosti sviracki da se najezim kad slusam primjerice Beyond Daylight. Meni osobno odlicni, ali ga znaju i zagnjaviti sa nekim laganim djelovima, no inace nemam zamjerki, Thanx!

Imam samo Far Off Grace pa je valjda logično koji mi je najbolji, jel. Inače genijalan bend IMHO - Distorted, hvala na CD-u .

nisam glasovala na pollu jer je istekao rok,no moj osobni izbor je Beyond Daylight jer jedino njega imam u arhivi kompletno cijelog (barem sto se tice ovog benda)

Vanden Plas : The NEW album

The band has written 15 new songs and will select 10 of them for the
album. In addition, the band is working on a rock musical entitled
"Monte Cristo". The new album will also be based on this topic.
Here are Stephan's explanations:

"First we wanted to do an album called "Monte Cristo" which should have

been kind of a rock musical. But after a while we realized that it would be
very hard to find a good solution regarding the songwriting. If the songs
are too hard, no one in the theater-scene would listen to them. If
they are too soft, our fans could be a bit irritated. At the end we
felt limited in both ways. So we decided to make a regular Vanden Plas
album (based on Monte Cristo) and a musical (called Monte Cristo).
This way we are free to write some heavy stuff and in the same way we are
free to write theater-like songs which aren´t heavy at all. That´s the
best solution for us, and hopefully nobody will be disappointed!
The musical will star different singers. Hopefully it will be played at
a theater someday, but right now I don't even know if it will ever be
recorded because that would be a big challenge. We just started the
songwriting of the musical, and if you think about what is neccessary
to create a musical, you can imagine that it will take a longer time to
realize that. Anyway, for the moment our regular CD is the most
important thing, we have to finish that first."

Abydos teaser

Abydos is Andy Kuntz's solo project. The album will be released on
30 August 2004. The project's label Inside Out already posted the cover
artwork and the tracklisting of the album. You can also download MP3

"At the cult and burial site of Abydos in the Valley of the Kings the
ancient Egyptians worshipped Osiris, God of perpetual reincarnation.
There were mystery plays to honour him, and each year many believers
made a pilgrimage to the site. Since all this happened 1500 years B.C.,
Abydos is regarded as the birthplace of theatre. Theatre plays play an
important role in the life of Vanden Plas' singer Andy Kuntz, too, and
it was one of the reasons for him to choose "Abydos" as the title for
his first solo project.
...
A look back: The prerequisites for a solo work were set for some time
when events in the year 2003 - one of the darkest years in Kuntz'
life - triggered the work for his album. Within few months the musician
lost his father and another three beloved people. In order to cope with
this events, he began working on the concept for his solo album.
Meanwhile Kuntz regards "Abydos" as a kind of reincarnation site for
the painfully missed ones. Despite all the resonating melancholy,
"Abydos" became a colourful story which is stimulating the listeners
imagination, it became a modern fairy tale including autobiographical
touches of the storyteller. However the story is revealed only in part
on the album since the basis for "Abydos" is a play written by Kuntz
which already ensured the interest of many playhouses before the
release, and which in essence can be heard on this CD.

Inspired by the spirit of progressive rock music of the Seventies,
Kuntz thought of an album on which already the instruments will be able
to tell a story.

a evo i zadnjih vijesti vezanih za novi album:

Vanden Plas have chosen the name of their next album : it will be called "Christ 0" ("Christ Zero"). This concept album will be a modern adaptation
of Alexandre Dumas' book "Monte Cristo".
In the meantime, the band is working on a rock opera based on the same theme, but the VP album is their priority.
Even though the band have been working on theater-oriented material for their rock opera, "Christ Zero" should be a very heavy album.

The band have written more than 25 songs, and will chose about 15 of them to work on their arrangements and include them on the Vanden Plas album.
The leftover material will be used in the rock opera.

In a recent interview for the French web-magazine progressia.net, Andy Kuntz said that the band haven't abandoned the project of releasing a DVD. They're thinking of recording a full-length show during the tour following the release of "Christ 0".
