You are internationally recognized Queen tribute band. How did it all begin? Tell us more about how you've started your globally succesful project?
It all began for us in 1996 when Kevin Goodwin helped to form the band with Kenny Evan (former drummer) and Mike Nolan (former guitarist). Wayne Bourne (current drummer) joined in 1998, Rob Comber (Lead Vocal) joined in 2004 and Christopher Gregory join the band in 2009. We have always been open to new ideas and taking a few risks, when you do this you increase your chance of getting noticed and opening more oppertunities. However, the most important has been to focus on constanty improving the musical performance and delivering a very consistent show whenever or whatever the circumstances.
Who is the biggest Queen's fan in your band?
We are all very big lifelong Queen fans. Chrisopher saw Queen in the mid 70's, Kevin saw them in 1986, and Wayne learned to play the drums playing along to Queen albums.
You are all extremely talented and experienced musicians. Do you have any original projects or are you only dedicated to reviving the legendary Queen?
We have all written and recorded our own orgional material in the past, however, Chris and Wayne still activly write and record their own origional music. However, playing Queen always takes priority for everyone in the band.
Queen's discography is very rich and a lot of their songs have become eternal hits people listen to even today . Is there some song that has a special meaning to you, maybe reminds you of a specific moment in your careers?
Yes there are very many. As you have said there is a very rich catalog of music. I have grown-up listening to Queen and different songs have certainly had much significence in my life. Far too many to mention here. The first Queen song i became aware of was Bohemian Rhapsody in about 1982, which just blow me away, however, i think my all time favourite song is Somebody to Love.
How difficult was the road from the beginning, when everything was just a concept, an idea, to now, when you're holding the title of one of the most dinamic and talented tribute bands in the world?
We started 20 years ago so, the road has been very long with plenty of highs and lows. It took a lot longer to become successful than we hoped and we made a lot of mistakes. However, it is the love and passion of the music that makes it all worth doing, whether it is successful or not.
Are you putting a lot of effort in resembling Queen's stage performance, and how important is it to you?
Our first love is of Queen and what they did in the studio and the show they put on the stage. Our aim is to re-create the energy, costume and showmanship of Queen's classic shows and give people a snippet of experence of what it may have been like to see a Queen show.
You have been performing all around the world. How is your interaction with fans? Out of all the countries you have been to, which country has the best fans?
We interact with fans after the shows and take photos etc... We are also on Facebook and interact. Every country is a different experence. The loudest audience we have played was in Slovenia, loads of energy and very exciting, it was amazing. We have not yet experenced the fans in Croatia or Serbia but can't wait to find out!
On November 18th 2016, which is the 25th anniversary of Freddie Mercury's death, you are preparing a real spectacle for Croatian fans in Zagreb's Bowling home. What can they expect? How will the set list look like?
We are really looking forward to this and are trying to do somthing a bit different. We will play material from the early 70's upto the last recorded album with Freddie (Made in Heaven) with some great, but quirky album tracks thrown in along the way. We are putting the show together with an orchestra and a 4 piece choir so the material we can choose from and the options this gives us is quite astounding, it should be a very memorial night for queen fans.
Is there something you would like to tell your Croatian fans?
We can't wait to experence your beautiful country and celebrating a fantastic night of Queen and Freddie with you.
